GRADUATE ENGINEER

MUD Engineer

We are seeking a Graduate Engineer to contribute to Municipal Utility District (MUD) projects, focusing on the design, permitting, and construction of essential public infrastructure. This role provides hands-on experience in water, wastewater, drainage, and roadway systems within MUDs. The ideal candidate will work under licensed Professional Engineers (P.E.s), assisting in engineering analysis, plan development, regulatory coordination, and construction oversight. This position offers a structured career path with mentorship, training, and professional development toward obtaining an E.I.T certification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engineering Design & Drafting: Assist in the design and layout of water distribution, wastewater collection, and storm drainage systems for MUDs, using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

  • Regulatory Compliance & Permitting Support: Work with senior engineers to prepare engineering reports, permit applications, and technical documentation in compliance with TCEQ, local municipalities, and state regulations.

  • Technical Analysis & Modeling: Perform hydraulic calculations, stormwater modeling, and system capacity analysis to support infrastructure planning.

  • Construction Oversight & Field Support: Participate in site inspections, contractor coordination, and construction progress evaluations to ensure adherence to project specifications.

  • Plan Review & Documentation: Assist in preparing and reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

  • Client & Stakeholder Interaction: Collaborate with internal teams, developers, and regulatory agencies, gaining exposure to public infrastructure planning and development.

  • Professional Development: Engage in on-the-job training and mentorship, working toward an E.I.T. certification by passing the FE exam and advancing technical expertise in municipal infrastructure projects.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university

  • 0-3 years of experience in Municipal Utility District (MUD) projects and/or Single-Family Residential Land Development.

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or other design programs.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication

  • Attention to detail and ability to contribute to a positive work environment
