PROJECT ENGINEER

Land Development

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer specializing in Land Development projects. This role focuses on the planning, design, and management of residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. The ideal candidate will oversee grading, drainage, water, wastewater, paving, and detention facility design, ensuring compliance with municipal regulations and industry standards. Responsibilities include coordinating with developers, municipalities, and utility providers, securing permits, and guiding projects from conceptual design through construction completion. This position requires strong technical expertise, project leadership, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site Development Planning & Design: Oversee the engineering design of grading, drainage, paving, detention, and utility systems for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.

  • Regulatory Compliance & Permitting: Ensure projects meet local, state, and federal regulations, managing the permitting process with municipal agencies, flood control districts, and utility providers.

  • Project Coordination & Client Interaction: Serve as the primary liaison between developers, architects, surveyors, and city officials, ensuring alignment with project goals.

  • Construction Oversight & Field Support: Provide technical support during construction, conducting site visits, reviewing submittals, and resolving design-related challenges.

  • Plan & Document Preparation: Develop and review construction drawings, specifications, drainage reports, and feasibility studies to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Stormwater & Detention Design: Design stormwater management systems, detention/retention basins, and floodplain mitigation solutions to meet regulatory requirements.

  • Schedule & Budget Management: Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, ensuring efficient project execution from conception to completion.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Texas.

  • 1-3 years of experience in Municipal Utility District (MUD) projects and/or Single-Family Residential Land Development.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and technical skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively.
